The Abaco Systems / Ramix PMC661J is a single-port 10/100BaseTX Ethernet interface card in PCI Mezzanine Card form factor, delivering full duplex operation at both 10 Mbit and 100 Mbit speeds. Built around the PMC660 Ethernet/PCI engine with an integrated DMA engine, the card ensures continuous full-bandwidth operation with minimal PCI overhead and deep FIFO buffering. Auto-negotiation automatically configures the link to the highest operating mode, including bandwidth and duplex determination. The card connects via a front-mounted flush RJ45 connector and draws 1.5 W @ 3.3V. Two PMC661J boards can be directly cross-cabled to create a dedicated 100 Mbit full duplex data path, or integrated into larger networks using hubs or switches. Point-to-point and switched full duplex configurations provide deterministic performance suitable for real-time embedded applications. Abaco Systems supplies drivers for VxWorks, LynxOS, Digital UNIX, Windows NT, and Solaris, with user-configurable operating parameters including auto-negotiation control through the host OS LAN protocol stack.
