The Acromag AVME9470 is a VMEbus-based digital I/O board delivering 80 programmable I/O points for industrial control and monitoring applications. Each point configures independently as input or output on a bit-by-bit basis, organized across multiple I/O sections. The board integrates three counter/timers per section, multi-level interrupt support, and flexible handshaking modes—making it suitable for process automation, machine control, and data acquisition in factory and field environments.
Technical Specifications
• I/O Architecture: 80 digital I/O points per board; each section contains two 8-bit ports and one 4-bit port
• Counter/Timers: Three per section; input counters accept events to 3.3 MHz (minimum pulse width 170 nS); output generates square waves 15.26 Hz to 100 kHz or one-shot pulses 500 nS to 32 mS
• Input Debounce: Programmable from 0 (no debounce) to 0.2 S in 3 µS increments
• Handshaking: Interlocked, strobed, three-wire, and pulsed modes supported
• Interrupts: IRQ(1-7) request levels with programmable vectors, priority, sense, and masking
• VMEbus Interface: A24/A16:D16/D08 (EO) DTB slave; D08 (O) ROAK interrupter; address modifiers 29H, 2DH, 39H, 3DH
• VMEbus Compliance: Meets or exceeds revision C.1 (October 1985) and IEC 821-1987
– Key Features
• Bit-level programmable I/O configuration eliminates hardware jumpers
• Output sink currents: 100 mA (8-bit ports), 60 mA (4-bit ports); saturation voltage ≤0.6 V at 100 mA
• Input thresholds: 0.8 V (H-to-L), 2.0 V (L-to-H) nominal
• Four 50-contact front-panel connectors for field wiring
• Form factor: VMEbus 6U with non-isolated design
– Electrical & Environmental
• Power: +5 V DC ±5% @ 3.0 A maximum
• I/O voltage range: 0 to 5 V DC
• Operating temperature: 0 to 70°C
• Storage: -25 to 85°C; humidity 5 to 95% non-condensing
– Compatibility & Integration
The AVME9470 integrates into standard VMEbus backplanes via P2 connector (603-2-IEC-C096-F). Standard VMEbus address modifiers and interrupt vectors ensure compatibility with industry-standard single-board computers and controller modules.
