This instrument performs insertion loss and return loss measurements with EEPROM-corrected detectors and features real-time transmission line fault location with 0.1% accuracy. The low-noise synthesized signal source provides 1 Hz frequency resolution, VCO-based generation above 3 GHz, and harmonic performance below -55 dBc from 70 MHz to 24 GHz. Optional output power increase and step attenuators support amplifier and receiver characterization across the full frequency band.
