The Agilent/Keysight 10780C is an optical receiver that converts Doppler-shifted laser signals from interferometer and wavelength tracker systems into electrical signals for precision measurement electronics. The receiver focuses laser light onto a silicon PIN photodiode, where polarizing optics separate reference (f1) and measurement (f2 ± M) signal components. These are mixed to generate an AC current at the difference frequency, then converted to a differential square wave output.
