The N9029AV05 is a millimeter-wave frequency extension module that extends Keysight X-Series signal analyzers into the 140–220 GHz band. Manufactured by VDI Inc., this WR5.1 waveguide-based analyzer covers the full WRxx SAX Series capability, delivering high-sensitivity measurements with direct frequency and amplitude display on the host instrument. The module operates in two distinct modes: Standard Mode uses the signal analyzer’s multiplied LO signal for general spectrum analysis of stable CW and narrowband signals, while Block Down-Converter Mode employs a separate signal generator to downconvert wideband RF blocks to intermediate frequencies up to 20 GHz—ideal for signals with drift or complex modulation. Typical conversion loss is 12 dB.
