The Ameritec AM5XT is a wideband analog transmission test set designed for qualification and analysis of voice and data circuits across North American telecommunications networks. Operating from 20 Hz to 200 kHz, it complies with IEEE Standard 743-1984 (Bell Standard 41009) and supports testing of voice band telephone, high-quality audio, DDS to 64 kbps, Basic Rate ISDN, and HDSL services. The instrument combines a full-function signal generator with extensive measurement capabilities, enabling simultaneous transmission and reception analysis in both field and laboratory environments.
