The EXFO MaxTester 700 OTDR Series is a handheld optical time domain reflectometer engineered for field-based fiber optic cable testing and troubleshooting across last-mile, metro, and PON network installations. Built around a 7-inch outdoor-enhanced touchscreen with Windows-like GUI, the platform delivers 12-hour battery autonomy and weighs approximately 1.5 kg for portable field deployment. The series offers multiple models with dynamic ranges from 30 dB to 42 dB in single-mode operation and up to 29 dB in multimode, supporting wavelengths from 1310 nm to 1650 nm across calibrated and selectable configurations. Live fiber testing at 1650 nm enables out-of-band measurements on active networks.
