Equipment info

The Fujikura 19S is a single-fiber cladding alignment fusion splicer engineered for field deployment in demanding fiber optic network environments. Built for durability, it delivers consistent low-loss splices across single-mode, multimode, and specialty fiber types while maintaining a compact footprint of 146 W × 159 D × 150 H mm.

## Technical Specifications

**Alignment & Performance**
• Cladding alignment technology with dual-camera splice loss estimation
• Typical splice loss: SM 0.05 dB, MM 0.02 dB, DS 0.08 dB, NZDS 0.08 dB
• Return loss: >60 dB
• Splice time: 9 seconds (SM FAST mode), 11 seconds (SM AUTO mode), 15 seconds (AUTO mode)

**Fiber Compatibility**
• Single-mode (SM), multimode (MM), dispersion-shifted (DS), and non-zero dispersion-shifted (NZDS) fibers
• Cladding diameter: 125 µm; coating diameter: 100 to 1000 µm
• Cleaved length: 5 mm to 16 mm

**Heating & Electrodes**
• Built-in tube heater with 30 heating modes and clamshell design
• Typical heating time: 14 seconds (Fujikura FP-03 or micro sleeves)
• Electrode life: 3,000 arc discharges or 2,000 welds per pair
• Tension test: 1.96 to 2.25 N

**Display & Optics**
• 4.73″ severe-impact resistant color LCD monitor
• Dual cameras; 320X magnification (single view), 200X (simultaneous view)
• Stores last 2,000 splice results

## Key Features

• Fully ruggedized construction—withstands shock, dust, and moisture exposure
• Dual power options: AC adapter (100–240 V AC via ADC-18) or Li-ion battery (14.8 V DC via BTR-09) with typical 180 splice/heat cycles per charge
• Weight: 2.3 kg with AC adapter; 2.5 kg with battery
• Operating range: −10°C to +50°C, 0 to 3,660 m altitude, 0–95% RH non-condensing, wind resistance to 15 m/s

## Typical Applications

• Access networks and PON/FTTx deployments
• Submarine cable systems (SCS) and local fiber links
• Field splicing requiring low splice loss and rapid cycle times

## Compatibility & Integration

• Fiber types per ITU-T: G.652/657 (SM), G.651 (MM), G.653 (DSF), G.655 (NZDSF)
• Protection sleeves: 60 mm, 40 mm, and micro series
• USB 1.1 (Type-B) for PC data transfer
• Mini-DIN (6-pin) connector for HJS-02/03 and SH-8 tube heater integration
