The IFR Aeroflex 2853S is a digital communications analyzer that generates and detects test patterns across PCM and data communication systems. Operating from 50 bit/s to 34 Mbit/s, it simultaneously demultiplexes and monitors framing errors and alarms at 2, 8, and 34 Mbit/s hierarchies. The instrument functions as both pattern generator and error detector, supporting framed and unframed test patterns across all levels within 8 and 34 Mbit/s signals, including 64 kbit/s and n × 64 kbit/s channels.
