The Keysight (Agilent) 3326A is a dual-channel synthesizer generating precise signals from DC to 13 MHz with independent control of frequency, amplitude, and modulation on each output. Microprocessor control enables coordinated sweeping, phase-continuous frequency changes with 11-digit resolution, and HP-IB programmability. The instrument delivers sine and square waveforms with 0.01 dB amplitude resolution across eight selectable ranges (1 mV p-p to 10 V p-p), supporting AM, PM, frequency sweeping, two-tone generation, and pulse mode with variable symmetry. All outputs are floating with an internal signal combiner and adjustable DC offset.
Technical Specifications
Frequency Range: DC to 13 MHz
Frequency Resolution:
• 1 µHz below 100 kHz
• 1 mHz from 100 kHz to 13 MHz
• 11 digits for phase-continuous sweeps and frequency changes
Frequency Stability: ±0.2 degrees below 100 kHz with internal calibration; external calibration and Option 001 (High Stability Frequency Reference) available for extended accuracy requirements.
Output Amplitude: 1 mV p-p to 10 V p-p in eight ranges with 0.01 dB resolution. Floating outputs on both channels; rear panel output option available (Option 003).
Waveforms: Sine and square, independently selectable per channel. Sinewave distortion: harmonics ≤ -70 dBc below 100 kHz.
Modulation:
• AM: DC to 100 kHz, envelope distortion better than -46 dB
• PM: 0.01-degree phase resolution across entire 13 MHz range
• Two-tone: ±100 kHz channel offset in CW or sweep modes
