The Keysight 8648C is a synthesized signal generator delivering precision RF signal generation from 9 kHz to 3.2 GHz. It combines wide frequency coverage with excellent spectral purity, configurable modulation, and fast switching for laboratory and production test environments. Output ranges from -140 dBm to +13 dBm with ±0.5 dB accuracy at 1 GHz. Phase noise performance reaches -120 dBc/Hz at 100 kHz offset, while harmonic suppression exceeds -30 dBc below 1.6 GHz. The instrument supports AM modulation (DC to 100 kHz) and FM modulation (10 Hz to 100 kHz), with optional PM and pulse capabilities. Frequency resolution selects from 0.01 Hz to 10 kHz. Frequency and amplitude switching occur in under 50 ms and 100 ms respectively. Linear and logarithmic sweep modes enable flexible test automation. GPIB control interface enables system integration. Supplied with Type N female RF output connector.
