The Keysight/Agilent/HP E1440A is a C-size, 2-slot VXI synthesized function/sweep generator delivering high-frequency stability and precise waveform generation for signal simulation, component testing, and system verification. This message-based module generates sine waves to 21 MHz, square waves to 11 MHz, and triangle/ramp waveforms to 11 kHz with 11-digit frequency resolution and ±5 ppm/year stability. It supports amplitude and phase modulation across 1 µHz to 1 MHz, multi-interval sweep modes, and multimarker functionality for time and frequency domain control. Arbitrary waveforms can be programmed via GPIB, while the modulation source enables user-defined signal generation. Output ranges from 1 mVp-p to 10 Vp-p in eight amplitude steps; high-voltage isolation options extend to 40 Vp-p. Dual or multiple modules synchronize for multi-phase signal generation with programmable relative phase. TTL clock input accepts 1 µHz to 60 MHz; SYNC-OUT and 10 MHz reference outputs enable integration with companion modules. Non-volatile memory saves and recalls test configurations. The module integrates into HP, Agilent, and Keysight VXI systems via message-based VXIbus with HP-IB support.
