The Keysight N5441A InfiniiMax III solder-in probe head delivers direct circuit access for high-speed digital measurements. This passive probe head minimizes signal distortion through a low-capacitance design and pairs with all InfiniiMax III probe amplifiers to enable accurate characterization of modern high-bandwidth signals.
Technical Specifications
• Bandwidth: 16 GHz (typical)
• Transition Time: 34.8 psec (10%-90%, probe only with N2803A)
• Lead Span: Variable, 5 mil to 80 mil (0.127 mm to 2 mm)
• Differential Capacitance: 85 fF
• Single-ended Capacitance: 125 fF
• DC Differential Resistance: 100 kΩ
• DC Single-ended Resistance: 50 kΩ
• Input Resistance (>10 kHz): 1 kΩ differential, 500 Ω single-ended
– Input Voltage Range
Voltage specifications vary by ZIF tip configuration:
• With N5440A 450 Ω tip: 1.6 Vpp (±0.8 V) at HD2&3 <-38 dB; 2.5 Vpp (±1.25 V) at HD2&3 <-34 dB
• With N5447A 200 Ω tip: 0.8 Vpp (±0.4 V) at HD2&3 <-38 dB; 1.6 Vpp (±0.8 V) at HD2&3 <-34 dB
Standard harmonic distortion is <-38 dB; the <-34 dB specification provides expanded input range with slightly elevated distortion.
– Key Features
• Solder-in design enables permanent fixture integration for repeated access without reconnection
• Minimal lead span variability (5 mil to 80 mil) accommodates diverse PCB layouts
• Low capacitive loading preserves signal integrity in high-speed designs
• Full compatibility with InfiniiMax III and InfiniiMax III+ amplifier platforms
– Compatibility & Integration
The N5441A works with N7000/1/2A, N2830/1/2A, N2800/1/2/3A amplifiers, as well as 1168/9B and 1130/1/2/4B probe systems. InfiniiMode operation is supported when paired with InfiniiMax III+ amplifiers and compatible heads (N2848A QuickTip, MX0109A, N2836A, N5444A), enabling differential, single-ended, and common-mode switching without probe removal.
Note: This product is obsolete. The MX0109A InfiniiMax III GHz Extreme Temperature Solder-in Head (26 GHz) is the current replacement.
