The Marconi IFR Aeroflex 2204 is a portable signal generator delivering precise RF signal generation up to 4.60 GHz for communication system testing, component characterization, and calibration applications. Built for field and laboratory use, it combines frequency stability with flexible modulation capabilities and remote control interfaces for seamless integration into automated test environments.
Technical Specifications
Frequency Range: Up to 4.60 GHz with 1 Hz resolution.
Output Level: -140 dBm to +13 dBm, adjustable in 0.1 dB steps. Optional higher output to +25 dBm available.
Modulation Capabilities: The 2204 supports AM, FM, phase, pulse, and FSK modulation modes. AM operates with 1 dB bandwidth to 30 kHz and modulation depths to 99.9%. FM delivers 1 dB bandwidth of 100 kHz with deviation range 0 to 100 kHz, AC or DC coupled. Phase modulation spans 0 to 10 radians with 3 dB bandwidth to 10 kHz. Pulse modulation provides on/off ratio better than 40 dB and rise time less than 10 µs.
Modulation Sources: Internal synthesized AF source generates single or simultaneous two-tone modulation (sine, triangular, square wave). FSK employs 3.9 kHz Bessel filtering.
Sweep Modes: Linear and logarithmic sweep capability.
Reverse Power Protection: Up to 50 W.
