Marconi IFR Aeroflex 2843 2MB Communications Analyzer with Datacom Interface

The Marconi IFR Aeroflex 2843 is a portable, battery-operated communications analyzer for installation and maintenance of 2 Mbit/s digital lines and datacom interfaces. It generates and receives 2 Mbit/s framing systems with 30 and 31 channels, with or without CRC4, and performs individual channel testing at 64 kbit/s and n × 64 kbit/s rates. The analyzer supports alarm simulation and detection, frame alignment strategy testing to G.706, and dual-receiver clock slip measurement on HDB3 signals. Voice channel monitoring with A/B audio routing and in-service quality checks are available via internal loudspeaker or headphone socket. Analog measurements include frequency response and linearity on selected channels using programmable sine wave generation across the full audio band with 1 Hz frequency resolution and 0.1 dB level resolution. High-accuracy delay measurements on 2048 kbit/s digital circuits are supported. The datacom interface accommodates RS-232, X.21, V.35, RS-449, codirectional, and contradirectional configurations in both synchronous and asynchronous modes across a wide range of standard and user-programmable data rates. Mixed-mode operation allows simultaneous 2 Mbit/s and data testing with independent transmitter and receiver paths. Individual 64 kbit/s data channels route to V.11 interfaces for external measurement. A large graphics-based LCD with QUICK menus and configuration stores accelerates setup and reduces field time.
