The MTS Systems 493.40 I/O Carrier Board is a VMEbus-based I/O interface module engineered for the MTS FlexTest controller family. It provides 16 digital inputs and 16 digital outputs, with support for up to four mezzanine cards that enable transducer conditioning, valve driver, and analog I/O functionality. The board integrates into the Model 493.10 chassis architecture and supports multiple controller variants including FlexTest IIm, GT, and SE series.
Technical Specifications
Digital I/O: 16 inputs, 16 outputs user DIO. Supports channel configurations of 4, 6, 8, 12, or 16 channels.
Mezzanine Card Slots: Four I/O option card slots accommodate up to three bridge completion resistors and one shunt calibration resistor per slot.
Supported Mezzanine Cards: Digital Universal Conditioners (493.21B, 493.25), Encoder (493.47), Acceleration Conditioner (493.48), Valve Drivers (493.14, 493.15), A/D Converter (493.45), and D/A Converter (493.46).
Chassis Integration: Compatible with Model 493.10 multi-station, multi-channel analog VMEbus chassis supporting up to 10 VMEbus modules and 10 transition modules.
– Key Features
• Modular mezzanine card architecture for flexible I/O expansion
• VMEbus plug-in module support within Model 493.10 chassis
• Front panel connectors J4–J7 for each mezzanine card assignment
• Hardware interface file (.hwi) requirement for module definition and location mapping
• Configurable channel support (4, 6, 8, 12, or 16 channels)
– Compatibility & Integration
The 493.40 integrates with MTS FlexTest IIm, GT, and SE controller series. System configuration requires a hardware interface file (.hwi) that defines each module type, associated mezzanine cards, and maps module locations. Physical module locations and I/O Carrier module address settings must match the .hwi file specification. When deployed with MTS controllers using UPS systems, Uninterruptible Power Supplies must meet specified operating temperature requirements.
