The Netcom GX-1405Bs is a single-port Gigabit Ethernet module purpose-built for network testing, conformance, and interoperability validation. Operating at 1 Gbps over 850 nm multi-mode fiber, it implements IEEE 802.3z in full duplex mode and supports both 1000Base-LX and 1000Base-SX standards. The module generates realistic network loads through configurable traffic patterns—good and errored frames, oversized and undersized packets, management and pause frames—all transmitted and received at or beyond wire speed. Packet payload ranges from 0 to 2,048 bytes with selectable transmit modes including multi-burst operation up to 65,536 repetitive bursts. Data capture with packet-level triggering and comprehensive frame counters enable detailed traffic analysis and protocol validation across Gigabit Ethernet backbones.
