The Newport 1835-C is a multi-function optical power meter delivering precise measurements across DC, peak-to-peak, and pulse operating modes. It accepts interchangeable Newport sensor heads—from low-power semiconductor photodiodes to high-power thermopile and pyroelectric detectors—enabling optical power characterization from 100 femtowatts to 300 watts and integrated energy measurements from 35 nanojoules to 1 joule. Output readings display in watts, dBm, dB, joules, ergs, amperes, and volts on a 6-digit vacuum fluorescent display with analog bar graph and 10X zoom. The instrument integrates 2500-point data storage, programmable sampling up to 1 kHz, and recallable configurations for reproducible test setups. Digital communication via RS-232C and IEEE-488 (GPIB), combined with analog output and trigger control, supports both standalone operation and system integration.
