The Newport / New Focus 1554-B-50 is a DC-coupled amplified photoreceiver that converts optical signals into electrical signals across the 800–1650 nm band. Built around an InGaAs PIN detector with multimode 50/125 µm fiber input, it delivers 12 GHz electrical bandwidth and 0.75 A/W responsivity for high-speed optical communications, laser characterization, and time-domain component analysis.

– Compatibility & Integration
The −50 designation confirms 50/125 µm multimode fiber compatibility. For optimal performance with multimode fiber, graded-index 50/125 µm fiber is recommended. The device accepts both single-mode and 50/125 µm multimode inputs at the FC/UPC connector. Electrical output couples via Wiltron K connector at 50 Ω impedance.
