The AT-GPIB/TNT is a high-performance IEEE 488 interface card for ISA-equipped computers, delivering IEEE 488.2 Talker, Listener, and Controller functionality through the NI TNT4882C ASIC. This Plug and Play variant automatically allocates hardware resources—I/O address, DMA channel, and interrupt level—eliminating manual jumper configuration. The card sustains data transfer rates exceeding 1.5 Mbytes/s using standard IEEE 488.1 3-wire handshake and supports High-Speed GPIB (HS488) protocol for rates above 1.6 Mbytes/s. A 32-byte FIFO buffer enables overlapped ISA and GPIB transfers, maximizing throughput with byte-to-word packing.
