The Photonetics 3624 BT-20 is a benchtop Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier (EDFA) engineered for high-gain, low-noise optical signal amplification across the C-band centered at 1550 nm. This unit delivers small-signal gain exceeding 35 dB at 1530 nm and 25 dB at 1550 nm, with saturated output power up to +20 dBm and a noise figure of 4.5 dB typical. The BT-20 employs 980 nm pump diodes in a co-propagating configuration with erbium-doped silica fiber co-doped with aluminum to achieve spectrally flat response. Polarization-maintaining fiber is available.
