Equipment info

The Q-Lab Q-SUN 3100S is a tabletop xenon arc test chamber that accelerates weathering by reproducing months or years of outdoor sunlight, heat, and moisture exposure in days or weeks. Built for R&D, quality control, and material certification, it delivers full-spectrum, ozone-free illumination with precise irradiance and temperature control across industry-standard test protocols.

Technical Specifications

Light Source & Irradiance
• Three full-spectrum xenon arc lamps, 1800 W total
• SOLAR EYE® Irradiance Control maintains programmed intensity at 340 nm, 420 nm, or TUV (300–400 nm)
• Flat optical filters designed for durability and indefinite spectrum maintenance under normal operation

Temperature Management
• Black panel temperature: 25 °C to 120 °C (77 °F to 248 °F), dependent on irradiance level, lamp age, ambient room temperature, and tester model
• Simultaneous control of black panel temperature (insulated or uninsulated) and chamber air temperature (CAT)
• Optional chiller available for applications requiring lower exposure temperatures

Specimen Capacity & Mounting
• Flat array specimen tray: 451 × 718 mm (17.8 × 28.3 in)
• Capacity: up to 55 specimens of 51 × 102 mm (2 × 4 in) each
• Accommodates flat specimens and large three-dimensional parts; multiple specimen holder options available

Moisture & Humidity
• Programmable water spray in light or dark cycles for thermal shock and mechanical erosion simulation
• Front and back spray options
• Relative humidity control standard; purified water required for RH system operation

Calibration & Data Management
• Universal Calibrator system with patented AUTOCAL® capability
• Calibration radiometers and thermometers used; annual recalibration by accredited lab recommended
• Standard data logging via Ethernet

– Key Features

• Intuitive user interface available in up to 17 languages
• E-model variants feature dual touchscreen displays
• Full-featured control system meeting major industry standards

– Typical Applications

Material weathering and photostability testing, lightfastness assessment, product durability qualification, and environmental stress screening across coatings, plastics, automotive, and consumer goods industries.
