The Ziatech ZT-8902 is a highly integrated 486-based single board computer engineered for demanding industrial applications. It delivers high performance and industrial reliability in a compact form factor, functioning as a standalone CPU or master processor in multiprocessing STD 32 STAR SYSTEM configurations supporting up to six temporary masters. Compatible with both STD and STD 32 bus architectures, the ZT-8902 integrates processor, memory, I/O, and serial communications on a single board, enabling rapid deployment in existing systems or new multiprocessing environments. The extended-temperature variant (ZT-89LT02) operates from -40°C to +70°C for harsh industrial environments.
Technical Specifications
Processor: 25 MHz 486 SX to 100 MHz DX4 options, including 66 MHz 486 DX2 configurations. DX4 variants operate at 3.3 V with onboard DC-to-DC conversion for reduced power and heat dissipation.
Memory: Up to 16 Mbytes DRAM (two 64-pin SIMM sockets), up to 4 Mbytes flash memory soldered on board. Select configurations include 1 MB EPROM and 4 MB DRAM. Optional 128 Kbyte battery-backed SRAM module available for critical data retention.
Bus Architecture: STD 32® and STD-compatible with dynamic bus sizing in STD 32 backplane. Data transfers in STD backplane limited to 8 bits; STD 32 provides full high-bandwidth operation.
I/O: 24 points digital I/O, two RS-232 serial ports (16450) with 5V charge pump technology supporting complete handshaking and modem control signals. Counter/timer (8254) on board. 50-pin frontplane connector for I/O module rack interfacing.
