Modulation Capability
Analog modulation includes AM, FM, and phase modulation. Digital modulation supports GMSK, GFSK, FSK, FFSK, 4FSK, QPSK, O-QPSK, and π/4-DQPSK. Simultaneous AM, FM, and pulse modulation capability is standard. Pulse modulation features on/off ratios exceeding 80 dB with rise/fall times under 10 ns.

Generator Modes
RF, LF, and level sweep modes enable flexible signal generation. List mode accommodates up to 4096 programmable frequency and level combinations with setting times below 0.5 ms. User-programmable data sequences and TDMA structures eliminate external modulation source requirements.

Optional Extensions
LF generator (SM-B2) supplies sine, noise (0.1 Hz to 500 kHz), triangular, and squarewave outputs. Pulse generator (SM-B4) and pulse modulator (SME-B9) provide extended timing control. Multi-function generator option (SM-B6) expands capability further.
