The Rohde & Schwarz ZV family comprises high-performance vector network analyzers engineered for precise electrical network characterization across DC to millimeter-wave frequencies. These instruments deliver S-parameter, impedance, admittance, stability, noise figure, and pulse profile measurements with exceptional dynamic range and measurement speed. The ZV series spans five distinct product lines—ZVA, ZVB, ZVT, ZVL, and ZVH—addressing applications in aerospace and defense, component validation, and research environments.
Technical Specifications
Frequency Coverage: 9 kHz to 110 GHz (model-dependent); extended capability beyond 110 GHz with millimeter-wave converters. The R&S®ZVA110 operates 10 MHz to 110 GHz; R&S®ZVL6 covers 9 kHz to 6 GHz.
Port Configuration: R&S®ZVA series provides 2 to 4 ports with 4-port operation to 67 GHz. R&S®ZVT series offers up to 20 test ports in a single instrument (R&S®ZVT20).
Measurement Speed: Sub–3.5 µs per CW test point (ZVA series). Frequency sweep across 200 points completes in less than 5 ms. With the R&S®ZVA-K17 option and 5 MHz IF bandwidth, sampling time reduces to approximately 430 ns per point.
Dynamic Range: Greater than 140 dB (ZVA series); up to 150 dB achievable at 1 Hz IF bandwidth for high-blocking direct-mode measurements.
IF Bandwidth Options: 1 Hz, 10 Hz, 500 kHz, 1 MHz, 5 MHz, 30 MHz. Maximum 30 MHz IF bandwidth available for pulsed measurements.
Output Power: Typically greater than 15 dBm at test ports; adjustable to less than –100 dBm with optional attenuators.
