The Rohde & Schwarz ZND is a vector network analyzer engineered for RF and microwave component characterization across development, production, and verification workflows. Operating from 100 kHz to 4.5 GHz in its base configuration, the ZND measures S-parameters S11 and S21 using a unidirectional test set architecture. A 12.1″ touchscreen interface supports intuitive operation in laboratory and production environments. The instrument delivers up to 120 dB dynamic range (100 kHz to 6.5 GHz, typical > 130 dB) and accommodates 2 to 5001 measurement points per trace. Optional upgrades extend frequency coverage to 8.5 GHz and enable bidirectional measurements of all four S-parameters. Calibration methods include normalization, one-path two-port, fixture compensation, and full one-port techniques. Automatic calibration completes in 30 seconds for 201 points. Standard connectivity includes USB, LAN, and monitor interfaces, with optional GPIB and handler I/O available. The ZND integrates with Rohde & Schwarz calibration kits and maintains compatibility with the ZNB family for modular test system expansion.
