The Tektronix A6303 is an AC/DC current probe engineered for non-invasive current measurement in a wide range of industrial and aerospace applications. It delivers DC to 15 MHz bandwidth with the ability to measure continuous currents to 100 A and peak currents to 500 A, subject to an amp-second product limit of 10,000 A·μs. The probe clamps onto conductors up to 21.1 mm (0.83 inches) in diameter and connects via a 2-meter cable terminated in a 12-pin connector.

– Key Features
The A6303 operates as a passive current transducer and requires an external amplifier. Its wide bandwidth spans from DC measurements through 15 MHz, making it suitable for steady-state and transient current analysis. The 500 A peak rating enables capture of inrush and fault currents without saturation, while the amp-second constraint manages thermal and core effects during extended high-current pulses.
– Typical Applications
• SCR measurements
• Power supply measurements
• Industrial control systems
• Motor start-up current analysis
• Motor drives
• Satellite systems
• Inverter characterization
• Transportation systems
• Avionics power distribution
– Compatibility & Integration
The A6303 is compatible with multiple Tektronix current probe amplifiers: AM503, AM503A, AM503B, AM5030, and the 11A16 2-channel amplifier (for 11000 and DSA series oscilloscopes). When paired with the 11A16, the probe rating reduces to 52.5 A continuous. The A6303XL variant offers reduced 10 MHz bandwidth and works only with AM503B and AM5030 amplifiers.
