The Tektronix AVG7 Analog Video Generator Module is a plug-in component for the TG700 TV Signal Generator Platform (requires TG700 software version 3.1 or later). It generates composite and component analog video signals across multiple broadcast and production formats, serving as a versatile source for video equipment testing, calibration, and validation workflows.

– Key Features
Graphics overlay functionality allows placement of circles, text, or logos directly onto video signals. Moving picture generation scrolls the active picture area to produce dynamic test content. Frame picture output is supported when 64 MB of memory is present in the mainframe, enabled through the Frame Picture Generator application. Full remote control via Ethernet interface enables command and control from external systems.
– Typical Applications
The AVG7 suits broadcast equipment validation, video processor testing, display calibration, and system integration environments where analog video signals of known quality and content are required as references or stimulus sources.
– Compatibility & Integration
The module operates within the TG700 platform alongside complementary generator and synchronization modules: AG7 (audio), AGL7 (genlock), ATG7 (composite test), AWVG7 (wideband video), BG7 (black generator), DVG7 (digital video), HD3G7 (3 Gb/s SDI), HDLG7 (dual link), HDVG7 (HDTV digital), and GPS7 (synchronization/timecode).
