Wavetek 751A

The Wavetek 751A is a precision programmable band-pass filter instrument engineered for advanced signal processing and bandwidth conditioning. Built around a 7th-order elliptic (Cauer) filter topology, it delivers a sharp 115 dB/octave rolloff with 85 dB stopband attenuation and 0.3 dB peak-to-peak passband ripple. The single-channel architecture integrates a high-pass section followed by a low-pass section, each with independent prefilter gain up to 40 dB and input overload indicators. Cutoff frequency ranges from 1 Hz to 99 kHz with 2-digit resolution (10 Hz–99 kHz) and 1-digit resolution (1–9 Hz), programmable via front panel or GPIB. The low-pass channel supports selectable AC/DC coupling; the high-pass channel operates DC-coupled. Input impedance is 1 MΩ || 50 pF nominal, handling ±10 V full-scale at 0 dB gain with ±100 V absolute maximum. Equivalent input noise measures 5 kΩ. Phase matching is ±0.5° typical (DC to 0.8 Fc) and ±1° maximum (DC to 0.8 Fc), with ±2° maximum (0.8 Fc to Fc). Harmonic and spurious components exceed 80 dB below full-scale, with intermodulation products >70 dB below full-scale. The instrument operates over 0°C to +40°C and requires 115/230 Vac ± 10%, 50–60 Hz, 25 W.
