The module creates a single logical system where the primary chassis operates independently while the secondary chassis depends on the primary for operation. By handling bus requests, grants, and interrupts between chassis, the Repeater maintains glitch-free operation on the primary during secondary power cycling—eliminating VMEbus timing errors that would otherwise occur.
