The ABB DPU2000 is a microprocessor-based protective relay for subtransmission and distribution power systems. It combines phase and ground overcurrent protection, voltage monitoring, frequency control, and four-zone distance protection in a single metal-housed unit. The relay accepts secondary CT inputs at 5 A or 1 A ratings and VT inputs across 69 V AC phase-to-ground (Wye), 120 V AC phase-to-phase (Delta or Open Delta with B phase grounded), and 208 V AC phase-to-phase (Delta) configurations. Patented automatic CT shorting protects the relay during insertion and withdrawal. Integrated metering tracks currents, voltages, watts, VARs, watt-hours, VAR-hours, power factor, and frequency. Fault recording captures distance in miles and fault resistance for the last 32 trips, with detailed event sequencing for the last 128 operations. Optional oscillographic data storage preserves 64 cycles of current and voltage waveforms.
