The XVME-490 is a quad RS-232 serial I/O module designed for VMEbus systems operating to IEEE 1014 specification. It provides four independent, full-duplex RS-232C serial ports, each capable of asynchronous, byte-synchronous, and bit-oriented protocols. The module uses two Zilog Z8530 SCC chips and features independent baud rate generators and modem control signals (RTS, CTS, DCD, DTR) for each channel.
