Equipment info

The Keysight N9917A FieldFox is a portable handheld RF analyzer that combines spectrum analysis, network analysis, and cable/antenna testing in a single 3.0 kg instrument. Operating from 5 kHz to 18 GHz, it delivers spectrum analyzer amplitude accuracy of ±0.5 dB across full temperature range (-10 to +55°C) without warm-up, supported by -155 dBm DANL at 1 GHz and ≥105 dB spur-free dynamic range. The dual Type-N port design accommodates simultaneous S-parameter measurements across 30 kHz to 18 GHz, with optional Vector Network Analyzer capability for S11, S21, S22, and S12 characterization including mixed-mode S-parameters and Time Domain Reflectometry. Phase noise of -113 dBc/Hz at 1 MHz offset and +15 dBm third-order intercept provide clean signal conditioning for demanding field work. Optional modules include high-performance spectrum analysis (Option 233), noise figure measurements to 18 GHz (Option 356), real-time spectrum analysis with 10 MHz bandwidth, built-in power metering (100 kHz to 18 GHz), vector voltmeter (30 kHz to 14 GHz), and over-the-air measurement capability. Channel power, AM/FM tune-and-listen, field strength, and frequency counter functions support telecommunications, aerospace, and defense deployment. Trace noise of 0.004 dB rms, maximum IQ streaming bandwidth of 1 MHz, and multi-format data storage (trace, state, PNG, I/Q) enable detailed signal characterization and documentation in the field.
