The Keysight 34933A is a dual/quad 4×8 reed matrix module that integrates with the 34980A Multifunction Switch/Measure Unit to enable flexible signal routing and multi-point DUT connectivity. This high-speed switching module uses non-latching reed relays to deliver precision signal path management across 64 or 128 cross-points, depending on configuration mode. In 2-wire differential mode, the 34933A functions as a dual 4×8 matrix providing 64 cross-points. Switch to 1-wire single-ended mode and it becomes a quad 4×8 matrix with 128 cross-points. The module handles switching voltages to ±150 V peak and switching currents to 0.5 A, with a maximum carry current of 1.5 A. Its 30 MHz bandwidth and 500 channels/second scanning speed make it suitable for both DC and low-frequency AC applications. Each column includes 100 Ω in-rush resistors for reed relay protection; these can be bypassed if measurement requirements demand it. The 34933A connects via standard 78-pin D-sub connectors and includes a relay counter for lifecycle monitoring. Multiple modules combine through the 34980A’s four 2-wire analog buses to build larger matrices up to 1024 1-wire cross-points within a single mainframe. In 1-wire mode, up to 40 channels can close simultaneously; 2-wire mode supports all 64 channels depending on bus relay constraints. Thermal offset remains below 50 µV, ensuring low-noise signal integrity in precision measurement setups.
