The Agilent/Keysight 3585A is a microcomputer-controlled spectrum analyzer engineered for precision signal analysis at baseband frequencies from 20 Hz to 40.1 MHz. This discontinued instrument delivers 80 dB spurious-free dynamic range with a minimum 3 Hz resolution bandwidth, enabling detection and characterization of closely spaced signals across its entire operating range. The analyzer employs a swept heterodyne triple conversion architecture with fully synthesized, phase-continuous local oscillator tuning for exceptional frequency stability and 0.1 Hz settability. A 1001-point digital vector storage display with CRT readout presents traces, markers, and all control settings simultaneously.
