The Anritsu ME7848A VectorStar Opto-Electronic Network Analyzer is a modular system for characterizing opto-electronic devices and transceivers. It combines a high-performance VectorStar VNA with specialized optical components to measure electrical-to-optical (E/O) and optical-to-electrical (O/E) transfer functions with precision across R&D and manufacturing environments.
## Technical Specifications
**Frequency Range:** 70 kHz to 220 GHz (VectorStar VNA); system measurements extend to 40 GHz, 70 GHz, 110 GHz, or 145 GHz depending on configuration.
**Optical Wavelengths:** 850 nm, 1310 nm, and 1550 nm. O/E calibration modules and E/O converters support single and multiband configurations at these wavelengths.
**E/O Modulation Bandwidth:** Available at 40 GHz, 70 GHz, and 110 GHz with internal lasers.
**Pulse Resolution:** 2.5 ns with dynamic range up to 100 dB (PulseView).
## Key Features
• **Transfer Function Measurements:** Error-corrected E/O and O/E characterization including bandwidth, flatness, group delay, and return loss.
• **Multimode Analysis:** Supports E/E, O/O, and domain-transfer measurements in a single platform.
• **De-embedding Capability:** Integrated VNA de-embedding with optional Universal Fixture Extraction (UFX) software for advanced analysis.
• **Differential Measurements:** 4-port single-ended or balanced operation via DifferentialView.
• **Modular Architecture:** Configurable with MN4765B O/E calibration module and optional MN4775A E/O converter.
## System Configurations
