This instrument combines thermal meter accuracy, diode meter speed, and peak power meter display capability in a single platform. The two independent channels eliminate multiplexing, enabling simultaneous gain and output power characterization. With sampling rates exceeding 35,000 times per second and dynamic range up to 90 dB, the ML2438A handles both CW and burst profiles across wide power spans. Its ruggedized polycarbonate chassis, splash-resistant design, and optional high-capacity NiMH battery (8-hour operation) make it equally at home in the lab or field. The graphics display renders burst profiles and power-versus-time waveforms in real time, while sensor EEPROMs automate calibration correction across the frequency band.
