It delivers 30 dB class dynamic range performance across 1310 nm and 1550 nm wavelengths, supporting optical fiber characterization from 0.5 km to 250 km. The module integrates OTDR, PON power metering at 1490 nm and 1550 nm, light source functionality with CW and modulated outputs (270 Hz, 1 kHz, 2 kHz), loss test set capability, and visible fault locator. Sampling resolution reaches 2 cm minimum with up to 250,001 data points. Fresnel dead zones are ≤0.8 m typical; backscatter dead zones ≤4.5 m. Distance accuracy is ±1 m ±3 × measurement distance × 10⁻⁵ ± marker resolution, with return loss measurement accuracy of ±2 dB. Pulse widths range from 5 ns to 20 µs. The module accepts UPC or APC connectors with changeable FC, SC, LC, ST, and DIN adapters. Internal storage holds approximately 1,000 traces (40 MB); external USB memory supports up to 30,000 traces (1 GB). Universal Telcordia SR-4731 data format ensures vendor compatibility. IOR setting range spans 1.3000 to 1.7000 in 0.0001 increments. Connectivity includes Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Ethernet. Designed for SMF (10 µm / 125 µm, ITU-T G.652) fiber testing in premise, access, metro, and core networks including high-split-ratio FTTx deployments.
