The Belden Hook-Up Wire Stranded Plated Copper assortment delivers nine distinct wire gauges in tinned and plated copper construction, engineered for internal wiring harnesses, circuit connections, and general electrical assembly. Each size features stranded conductors with tin plating that enhances conductivity and corrosion resistance across diverse environmental conditions. The bundle spans AWG 22 through AWG 6, accommodating applications from precision signal routing to higher-amperage power distribution.

Technical Specifications

Conductor & Insulation
• Tinned copper or silver-plated copper conductors in stranded construction
• Stranding patterns optimized per gauge: 7/30 (AWG 22), 10/30 (AWG 20), 16/30 (AWG 18), 26/30 (AWG 16), 41/30 (AWG 14), 65/30 (AWG 12), 84/27 (AWG 8), 133×27 (AWG 6)
• Insulation materials: XLPE, PVC, Teflon® (PTFE), EPDM, XL-Dur, CSPE, Neoprene, Silicone Rubber, or Chlorosulphonated Polyethylene (Hypalon®)

Electrical Performance
• Voltage rating: 300V or 600V depending on insulation type
• Spark voltage: Up to 6000V (specific types)
• Amperage: 215 A at 105°C (AWG 8 example)
• DC resistance: 5.96 Ω/1000 ft (AWG 18)
• Capacitance: 26 pF/ft conductor-to-conductor (AWG 18 pairs)

Temperature Rating by Material
• XLPE/XL-Dur: 125°C
• PVC: 105°C
• Teflon/PTFE: 200°C
• EPDM: 150°C
• Silicone Rubber: 200°C
• Hypalon®: 105°C

Physical Characteristics
• Insulation thickness: 0.032″ to 0.063″ depending on gauge and material
• Overall diameter: 0.29″ to 0.331″ (varies by gauge and insulation)
• Weight: 6.00 LBS/MFT (AWG 22) to 9.00 LBS/MFT (AWG 20)

– Key Features

• Nine-gauge selection within single bundle for system-level flexibility
• Tin plating provides superior corrosion resistance and solder wettability
• Stranded construction ensures mechanical flexibility during installation and routing
• Multiple insulation chemistries accommodate temperature and chemical environments from 80°C to 200°C

– Typical Applications

• Internal equipment wiring and harness assembly
• Low-voltage circuit connections and point-to-point wiring
• Signal and power distribution in test and measurement systems
• Industrial control and instrumentation panel wiring

– Compatibility & Integration

Wire gauges range from AWG 22 (precision signals) through AWG 6 (higher current capacity), enabling mixed-gauge harness designs within a single product family. Insulation options support standard 300V/600V system voltages and elevated-temperature environments to 200°C.
