The Cole-Parmer 5053-20 is a laboratory vacuum oven engineered for precision drying, desiccation, vacuum embedding, plating, and electronic component processing. Operating from slightly above ambient to 220°C with vacuum capability up to 30 inches of mercury, it delivers controlled atmospheric processing in a 2.26 cubic foot chamber. Radiant warm-wall heating eliminates internal exposed elements, ensuring uniform temperature distribution and maximum usable chamber volume. A hydraulic thermostat maintains setpoint control, backed by a fixed bimetallic safety limit at approximately 250°C. The front-mounted control panel houses the lighted power switch with integrated circuit breaker, thermostat adjustment knob, 0–30 inches of mercury vacuum gauge, three-position vacuum/vent valve, and dual nickel-plated brass hose connectors for 1/4″ ID tubing. Non-corrosive, non-flammable gases including nitrogen and carbon dioxide are compatible with chamber operation.
