The Corning SMF-28 Ultra Optical Fiber is a 50 km single-mode fiber engineered for telecom, enterprise, and industrial deployments. Compliant with ITU-T G.652.D and exceeding ITU-T G.657.A1 performance, this fiber delivers full-spectrum utilization across 1260–1625 nm with a low water peak characteristic. The 9.2 µm mode field diameter and zero dispersion wavelength of 1304–1324 nm enable high-fidelity signal transmission across C, L, and extended bands. Attenuation at 1550 nm reaches only 0.18 dB/km, with superior macrobend loss performance even at tight 10 mm radii. Operating from −60°C to +85°C and proof tested to ≥100 kpsi tensile stress, SMF-28 Ultra suits both outdoor and indoor installations with backward compatibility to existing G.652 infrastructure.
