The Dicon GP700-2x(1×16) is a modular, programmable fiber optic routing instrument that switches optical signals through passive matrix elements without optoelectronic conversion. It accommodates MxN distributional and directional matrix switches, along with attenuators and filters, delivering wavelength-independent operation across any data rate, format, or direction with negligible crosstalk.
## Technical Specifications
The GP700-2x(1×16) operates at 1310 nm and 1550 nm windows. Insertion loss for 1xN switches reaches 0.6 dB typical and 1.2 dB maximum; MxN distributional matrix switches specify 1.2 dB typical and 2.4 dB maximum. Back reflection measures -55 dB maximum for singlemode and -20 dB typical for multimode fiber.
Repeatability is ±0.02 dB maximum for 1xN switches over 100 cycles at constant temperature, and ±0.04 dB maximum for MxN switches. Polarization dependent loss (PDL) is 0.05 dB maximum for singlemode 1xN switches at 1550 nm; MxN switches specify 0.1 dB maximum PDL. Crosstalk performance reaches -80 dB maximum.
Switching time for 1xN switches is 425 ms plus 16 ms per channel maximum. MxN switches deliver 500 ms typical and 750 ms maximum. Control signal switching (logic transitions) is 2 ms maximum. The platform survives minimum 10 million cycles.
Pigtail fiber uses 9/125 SMF-28 with 1-meter length and angle-polished SC connectors. Configurable core fiber options include Corning SMF-28, Flexcor 1060, or Polarization Maintaining Panda.
