Equipment info

The Emerson / Rosemount Analytical 5301 Guided Wave Radar Level Transmitter employs Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) technology to measure level, interface, and density in liquids, slurries, and solids across storage tanks, separators, distillation columns, and other demanding process vessels. Direct Switch Technology (DST) enhances signal strength while probe end projection enables measurement in low reflective media and extended ranges. The transmitter operates without requiring calibration, delivering plug-and-play installation and fast commissioning.

## Technical Specifications

• **Measurement Principle:** Guided Wave Radar (GWR) via Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR)
• **Measuring Range:** Up to 50 m (164 ft)
• **Dielectric Constant Range:** 1.4 to 7.0 (single lead probes); 1.4 to 10.0 (coaxial probes)
• **Interface Measurement:** Capable; requires upper product dielectric constant lower than lower product with differential > 6
• **Minimum Detectable Upper Product Thickness:** 1 in. (2.5 cm) for large coaxial probes; 8 in. (20 cm) for HTHP coaxial probes
• **Update Interval:** Minimum 1 update per second
• **Dynamic Vapor Compensation:** Automatically compensates for saturated steam under high pressure
