The EXFO CT400 Optical Component Tester characterizes passive optical components and modules with high-speed precision across the C, L, and S bands. Built for Photonic Integrated Circuit testing, Wavelength Selective Switch analysis, and optical filter characterization, the CT400 delivers fast transfer function measurements with a 65 dB dynamic range in a single sweep. The instrument integrates up to four tunable lasers with automatic switching for continuous full-band coverage, eliminating external switching requirements. Wavelength resolution reaches 1 pm with ±5 pm accuracy, while measurement times for insertion loss approach 1 second. Four internal detectors support heterodyne detection and real-time multi-channel measurements. The CT400 interfaces with standard tunable laser sources, offers PC and GPIB remote control, and operates in a compact form factor suited to laboratory and production environments.
