The Exfo FLS-110 is a handheld polarized light source for PMD measurements and fiber identification in field environments. It delivers both continuous wave and 2 kHz modulated output across O band (1310 nm) and C band (1550 nm) wavelengths, with typical output power of -19 dBm (O band SLED) to -13 dBm (C band LED). The unit features a waterproof casing, shock-absorbing holster, and flexible power management via rechargeable NiCd battery, 9 V alkaline backup, and AC adapter. Typical battery life reaches 14 hours combined operation. Multiple connector options support FC, ST, SC, and E-2000 configurations in both UPC and APC polishes. Operating temperature range spans -10 °C to 40 °C with storage capability to -20 °C to 60 °C. The instrument is Class 1 LED certified and complies with 21 CFR 1040.10 and IEC 60825-1:2007.
