The HP/Agilent 6811B is a 375 VA AC power source combining power amplification, arbitrary waveform generation, and integrated power analysis in a single instrument. It delivers precise AC and DC power for component testing, system development, and quality assurance, eliminating the need for separate power supplies, function generators, and measurement equipment. The built-in 16-bit measurement system captures RMS voltage and current, real/apparent/reactive power, total harmonic distortion, and harmonic content to the 50th order. Peak current capability reaches 40 A repetitive and non-repetitive, with a 12 crest factor. The unit generates standard waveforms (sine, square, clipped sine, triangular) plus user-definable and transient disturbance profiles across DC through 1 kHz. Regulation performance holds line regulation to 0.1% and load regulation to 0.5%, with maximum THD of 1% worst case. RMS voltage accuracy reaches 0.03% + 100 mV at 45–100 Hz; current accuracy 0.05% + 10 mA on the high range. DC output extends to ±425 V at 2.5 A (285 W). The instrument occupies 128 mm height, 425.5 mm width, and 574.7 mm depth, operating indoors to 2000 m altitude and 95% relative humidity. GPIB and RS-232 interfaces support SCPI programming. Remote inhibit, discrete fault indication, and external trigger connectivity via TTL/BNC connectors enable integration into automated test systems. Sense connections allow remote voltage measurement at the load. Safety Class 1 design includes protective earth terminal.
