The HP/Agilent 81689A is a compact tunable laser module engineered for precise wavelength control across the C-band (1525–1575 nm). Designed for optical testing, DWDM system characterization, and telecommunications applications, it delivers optical output ≥ +6 dBm with 0.01 nm wavelength resolution and ±0.3 nm accuracy. The module offers exceptional wavelength stability (±0.02 nm over 24 hours) and 20 MHz spectral linewidth, supporting both internal and external digital modulation up to 1 MHz, plus external analog modulation from 5 kHz to 1 MHz. Available with standard single-mode or polarization-maintaining (Panda) fiber options with straight or angled connectors, the 81689A integrates into Agilent 8163, 8164, and 8166 series mainframes for flexible test configuration during DWDM installation and maintenance.
