The HP/Agilent 8719ET is a transmission/reflection vector network analyzer that characterizes RF and microwave components from 50 MHz to 13.5 GHz. This integrated instrument combines a synthesized source, test set, and tuned receiver in a single platform, delivering up to 104 dB dynamic range for transmission measurements. The built-in T/R test set enables full magnitude and phase S-parameter measurements in the forward direction across frequency and power sweeps.

The 8719ET achieves high measurement accuracy through one-port, response, and enhanced response calibrations. Directivity reaches 42 dB across 0.05 to 8 GHz, with source match and load match specifications of 40 dB and 42 dB respectively in the same band. Reflection tracking accuracy is ±(0.005 dB + 0.03°C) from 0.05 to 2 GHz, improving system fidelity in critical impedance measurements. Transmission tracking maintains ±(0.020 dB + 0.03°C) at 0.05 to 2 GHz, extending to ±(0.048 dB + 0.04°C) at 8 to 20 GHz.
