The Interphase V/FDDI 5211 is a single 6U VME slot adapter module that delivers dual attachment FDDI connectivity for VME-based systems. Built around a Motorola 68EC040 processor and Motorola FDDI chipset, this module supports both Single Attachment Stations (SAS) and Dual Attachment Stations (DAS) configurations on a single card. It employs custom Interphase ASICs to optimize DMA transfers and uses a split buffered architecture that enables full-rate data movement independent of host CPU cycles. The adapter is ANSI X3T9.5 compliant and has completed interoperability testing.
