The Keysight/Agilent/HP E1434A is a 4-channel arbitrary waveform source module for VXI-based test systems. This C-size, 1-slot module delivers flexible signal generation with selectable resolution and bandwidth: configure as four 16-bit channels at 25.6 kHz bandwidth or two 20-bit channels at 6.4 kHz bandwidth. It samples at up to 65 kSa/sec and outputs 1 Vpk with 1.2 kΩ output impedance. The E1434A supports arbitrary waveforms (downloadable, glitch-free looping), sine waves (0 Hz to 25.6 kHz with independent frequency/phase/amplitude control per channel), and random noise (periodic or pseudo-random, band-translatable). Onboard DSP and 32 MB RAM (with Option ANC) enable continuous gapless data transfer over the VXI local bus, eliminating host bottlenecks in multi-channel systems. Amplitude flatness is ±1 dB typical (5 Hz to 20 kHz, scale factor 0.1 to 1.0). Channel pairs are grouped—each pair must output the same waveform type but operates independently from the other pair.
